This is a classic rice dessert.
Makes about 42/3 cup long grain white rice
3/4 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup of fresh berry preserves, jam, compote or fruit sauce
Boil the rice according to package directions. Rinse in cold water and drain well. Beat the whipping cream until thick, stir in vanilla and sugar. Blend the rice into the creamed mixture. Refrigerate. Serve this dish cold and top each portion with a dollop of your choice of fruit topping.
